Introduction

London Hire Community Services Ltd has been created to provide accessible transport services predominantly for Home to School and Adult transport type services, where passenger are unable to access public transport. All our services are run under full passenger vehicle operator’s licence regulations. The Company forms part of the London Hire Ltd group of companies which has been providing leasing and contract hire of vehicles for over 25 years. London Hire is the leading provider of fully accessible vehicles in the UK. The group of companies includes, 3no. Engineering facilities and MOT testing in London, accident repairs, fast fit tyre replacement service, vehicle sales and Courier services.

We have built our service around principals and process that are recognised as industry standards. We have been accredited with the ISO 9001 quality standard as well as ISO 14001 which manages our environmental impact. We take the safety of our passengers as well as our staff very seriously and have also put in place OHSAS 18001 that governs the way we manage Health and Safety in the work place.

Main Purpose of the Job

The role will require the post holder to provide the London Hire Group Senior Management team with assistance and support in developing new business through a number of procurement routes such public sector tenders. You will be required to identify and research, through various procurement portals, potential tenders that the Senior Management Team can consider as a formal business opportunity and actioned. Your research will provide the team with an overview of requirements, the likely resources required and the team member required.

You will also be involved in short term project development and management including developing new services that complement the potential vehicle and driver down time. These services can vary from a single day trip to an international event covering a number of weeks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Preparing monthly reporting on potential opportunities to Senior Management Team
  2. To monitor web sites for new tendering opportunities.
  3. To support and assist the Senior Management Team in the preparation of tender documents as required.
  4. Working with all Transport Managers to develop Ad-Hoc work
  5. To assist the Senior Management Team in project work where necessary
  6. Provide customer first response provision during tender preparation
  7. Working with other members of the London Hire Group
  8. Liaising with customers on future opportunities
  9. To assist in the development of the business where possible

Person Specification

Specific Essential Requirements to this Job

  1. Must be familiar with driving in and around West-London area.

  7. Ability to work in a team environment as well as confidence to work with minimum supervision and using own initiative.
  8. Good clear verbal and written communications skills.
  9. Knowledge of transport services provided to public sector
  10. Full driving license
